Dr. Ellie Graeden is Chief Data and Product Officer at Metron. She spearheads Metron’s work in the emerging field of water intelligence, helping municipal leaders, enterprises, and property owners to leverage AI and big data to drive cost-savings, conserve water, and enable smarter and more sustainable growth. She is leading Metron’s expansion into the Canadian market and launching a subsidiary based in Vancouver BC. Prior to joining Metron, Dr. Graeden was a three-time founder and CEO leading companies designing and building data products to solve challenging problems at the intersection of policy, science, and strategy. She is a respected and widely published thought leader on data privacy, global AI and data regulation, and related topics.
In addition to her work at Metron, Dr. Graeden serves as an adjunct Research Professor at Georgetown University’s Massive Data Institute, using data architecture and engineering to address challenges at the intersection of AI, policy, and health. Her work is used by the United Nations, the Global Fund, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, and the G20 to drive high-level policy decisions in areas including biological weapons security, utility modeling and emergency response planning, and local, national, and international COVID-19, HIV, and influenza preparedness. Dr. Graeden earned her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and her doctorate from MIT.
